HubSpot Revenue Hub, formerly Commerce Hub

Set up HubSpot Revenue Hub so quotes, invoices and payments line up

Revenue Hub is the new name for HubSpot's Commerce Hub. It puts quotes, contracts, invoices and payments on the same record as the deal. We help you decide what it should handle and what should stay in your accounting software or ERP, then set it up.

Free, 30 minutes, and you'll leave with at least one clear next step.

What is Revenue Hub?

Revenue Hub is the part of HubSpot that handles money. A rep builds a quote from the deal, the buyer signs online, an invoice goes out and the customer pays by card or bank transfer. Sales and finance see the same numbers. HubSpot also uses the term CPQ for the quoting side, short for configure, price, quote.

It used to be called Commerce Hub, so older articles and videos use the old name. The features carried over.

There are three levels. The free version covers invoices, payment links and subscriptions. Professional adds quotes, contracts, revenue reports, automatic sales tax and 25 e-signatures per user per month. Enterprise adds advanced approvals, quote rules and 50 e-signatures per user. HubSpot's pricing page has current prices for each level.

What should Revenue Hub own, and what stays in your other systems?

For many companies, Revenue Hub doesn't replace the accounting system or ERP. It handles the selling side and hands off cleanly. Here's a typical split. Yours depends on how you invoice today.

CRM

Revenue Hub handles

  • Quotes and quote approvals
  • Contracts and e-signatures
  • Payment links for deposits and one-off charges
  • Subscriptions for simple recurring items
  • Revenue reports for sales leaders

Shared, synced one way

  • Accepted quote becomes an order CRM to ERP
  • Invoice and payment status ERP to CRM
  • Products and prices ERP to CRM
ERP

Accounting system or ERP handles

  • Your master product list and costs
  • Stock and delivery dates, if you sell physical goods
  • Orders and fulfillment
  • Invoices for delivered work or goods
  • General ledger and tax filing
Service businesses and online brands often let Revenue Hub do more of the invoicing. Companies with complex orders usually keep that invoicing in their accounting system or ERP.

Who gets the most from Revenue Hub?

A strong fit

  • Quotes are built outside HubSpot today and get lost
  • You chase deposits or progress payments by hand today
  • Finance chases unpaid invoices by hand
  • You invoice from QuickBooks or Xero, which HubSpot lists as integrations
  • Sales leaders want revenue numbers next to the deals

Think it through first

  • Your current system already handles quotes, orders and invoices well and reps are happy
  • Pricing is a large customer-by-item list that lives only in another system
  • You take card payments outside the US, UK or Canada, where payments run through Stripe instead
  • Finance has no one to own the setup after launch

How do payments work?

Customers can pay by card or ACH bank transfer, set up recurring payments, or pay through a link in an email or on a quote. In the US, UK and Canada this runs through HubSpot Payments. Elsewhere it runs through Stripe. HubSpot's product page doesn't list transaction fees, so we check current fees with you before you switch.

HubSpot also offers a Revenue Agent, labeled beta, that chases overdue invoices. It works on QuickBooks invoices synced into HubSpot too. Because it's in beta, we test it on a small group of accounts before letting it email your customers.

How it works

What a Revenue Hub setup looks like, week by week

  1. Week 1

    Map how money moves today

We trace a few recent orders from quote to cash, across HubSpot, your accounting tool or ERP and your bank. Your finance lead and sales lead join for an hour each.

  2. Week 1 to 2

    Agree who owns each record

We fill in a split like the one above with your team. Quotes, orders, invoices and payments each get one home.

  3. Week 2 to 4

Set up products, quotes and payments

We load products and price books, build quote templates and approvals in CPQ, and connect payments.

  4. Week 3 to 5

Connect your accounting tool or ERP

We set up the QuickBooks, Xero or NetSuite connection so accepted quotes and payment status move without retyping.

  5. Week 5 to 6

    Run live deals, then train

We run live deals through the new setup with a small group, fix what we find, then train sales and finance.

What about purchase orders and credit holds?

Revenue Hub works with data that's already clean and in HubSpot. It won't read a customer's purchase order PDF. It won't predict when a customer will buy again from years of history in another system, or check your credit-hold rules before a quote goes out. Those jobs need custom AI workflows that feed clean results back into HubSpot.

We've done the order handoff before. For Photon Brothers, we set up sales orders that go from HubSpot into the inventory system, with an alert when product records don't match. That work is part of why they save about 10 hours a week of manual data entry.

FAQ

Revenue Hub questions

Is Revenue Hub the same as Commerce Hub?

Yes. HubSpot renamed Commerce Hub to Revenue Hub. It covers quoting, contracts, billing and payments.

Can we invoice from Revenue Hub instead of our accounting system?

Often only partly. It handles quotes, contracts, payment links and simple subscriptions well. Stock, fulfillment, costs and the general ledger usually stay in your accounting system or ERP. Many service and online businesses can run more of their billing in it.

Does Revenue Hub work with QuickBooks and NetSuite?

HubSpot lists QuickBooks, Xero and Stripe as Revenue Hub integrations. NetSuite connects through HubSpot's separate NetSuite integration, which can sync invoices, sales orders and products.

What does the free version include?

The free version includes invoices, payment links and subscriptions. Quotes, contracts, revenue reports and automatic sales tax start at Professional.

Which countries does HubSpot Payments support?

HubSpot Payments works in the US, UK and Canada. Businesses elsewhere take payments through Stripe.

What is the Revenue Agent?

It's a HubSpot AI agent, in beta, that follows up on overdue invoices, including QuickBooks invoices synced to HubSpot. Test it on a small group of accounts before turning it on widely.

Does Revenue Hub handle sales tax?

Professional and Enterprise include automatic sales tax. The free version doesn't. Tax filing still belongs in your accounting system, with your accountant.
