Modest fashion marketing for brands ready to grow past pop-ups and word of mouth
Meta no longer lets you aim ads by religion, and few shoppers type "modest clothing" into Google. We've worked through both. Veiled Collection went from pop-up sales to more than 50,000 new customers with us.
Free, 30 minutes, and you'll leave with at least one clear next step.
Why is modest fashion hard to advertise?
In 2022, Meta removed ad targeting tied to religion and other sensitive topics. Many modest brands had leaned on those options. Without them, ads that used to find the right women got much harder to aim.
Search doesn't fill the gap on its own. Few people type "modest clothing" into Google. They search for the item they want, like an abaya, a long-sleeve maxi dress or a jersey hijab. When Veiled Collection came to us, the main search terms for its products had very little volume.
Your shoppers also come from more than one background. For many modest brands, Muslim women are the core customers. Many Christian and Jewish women dress modestly too, and so do women who simply like more coverage. Ads that speak to only one group miss the rest.
How we find modest shoppers on Meta without interest targeting
We let the ad do the targeting. The model, the styling, the length of the sleeve and the way a scarf is paired all tell Meta who the ad is for. When the right women click and buy, Meta learns to find more people like them. So we run broad audiences with many versions of each ad.
For Veiled Collection, that meant checking results every day and moving money to whatever was selling. Creator videos and YouTube came in once the budget could carry them. We also synced customer lists, so the ads skip women who have already bought.
Google came next. Products went into Google Shopping, which became a new sales channel. Search ads went after item names, like abaya or jersey hijab, that fit the women already buying from Meta ads.
Problems modest brands run into
Pop-ups can hide these for years. They show up once a brand tries to grow online.
The biggest season moves every year
Ramadan and Eid follow the lunar calendar, so they arrive about 11 days earlier each year. Last year's launch dates don't line up with this year's.
Best sellers sell out before the restock lands
Veiled Collection kept selling out faster than it could restock. Ads have to slow down when stock runs low, or you pay for clicks you can't fill.
Length matters as much as size
An abaya or maxi dress that fits at the waist can still be too short. Height is a common reason for returns, and many size charts leave it out.
Event sales don't carry over online
Pop-ups and community events can carry a brand for years. When they slow down, online sales aren't ready to take over.
From pop-up events to online sales
Veiled Collection, a family-run modest fashion brand, used to depend on in-person pop-up events. After we built its Meta and Google ads program, its sales no longer depend on those events.

Premium ecommerce brandsHow do you plan around Ramadan and Eid?
We plan backward from Eid. Many women buy their Eid outfits and gifts during Ramadan. So the last order date for delivery before Eid is the most important date in your year. Ads, emails and texts all point at it.
Shopping habits shift during Ramadan as well. Many shoppers browse late in the evening, after the fast is broken. We look at your own order times from last year and schedule emails, texts and ad budgets to match.
Because the dates move, we compare years by days before Eid instead of by calendar date. That gives you a fair read on whether this season beat the last one. After Eid, we shift to wedding season, fall layering and the basics your customers reorder. Stock for the next Ramadan gets planned months ahead, while there's still time to make it.

Modest fashion questions
Can you still target Muslim shoppers on Meta?
Not by religion. Meta removed those targeting options. Today the creative does the work. The models, styling and products in the ad tell Meta who it's for, and your customer lists help it find more people like your buyers.
When should a modest brand start its Ramadan ads?
Stock decisions come months ahead. Creative testing should start a few weeks before Ramadan, so winners are ready. The heaviest push runs during Ramadan, up to the last order-by date for delivery before Eid.
Is Google worth it if few people search for modest clothing?
Yes, when you target item names instead of the category. Google Shopping became a new sales channel for Veiled Collection, and search ads matched the terms used by people already buying from Meta.
How do you cut returns on abayas and maxi dresses?
Add a length chart by height and list the model's height on every product. Send fit notes after purchase. Then track which pieces come back for length, and fix those product pages first.
Do creator videos work for modest fashion?
They can. Women want to see how a piece moves, layers and pairs with a scarf. Veiled Collection added creator videos run as ads once its budget grew. We test them against your other creative and keep what sells.
Can you help a modest brand sell outside the US?
Yes. Veiled Collection now has customers outside the US. Before ads go to a new country, we check shipping costs, delivery times and duties, so each order still makes money.
