A furniture marketing agency for brands with showrooms, home trials and long lead times
A sofa can take weeks to make, and a mattress can come back after weeks of sleeping on it. We plan ads, email and texts around the parts of furniture selling that ad platforms never see.
Free, 30 minutes, and you'll leave with at least one clear next step.
Where furniture gets harder than the rest of home goods
Our home goods page covers the basics for big-ticket items. That includes follow-up that runs for weeks and profit after freight. Furniture and mattress brands carry a few more problems on top of those, and this page is about them.
Made-to-order pieces take weeks to build, so the shopper has to want it enough to wait. Showrooms bring in sales that no ad report can see. Mattress trials mean a sale isn't final until the trial ends. And big carts often need a payment plan before anyone checks out.
We haven't published a furniture case study yet. What follows is how we'd plan your marketing. We'd start by putting booked sales, kept sales and showroom sales side by side.
What furniture and mattress brands run into
Lead times kill the urge to buy
A shopper falls for a sofa, sees a long build time and leaves. Ads that hide the wait lead to cancellations later.
Showroom sales are invisible to ads
Someone sees an ad, visits the showroom on the weekend and buys there. The ad gets no credit.
Home trials make revenue soft
A mattress sold this month can come back next month. Counting it as a sale on day one overstates what the ads earned.
Big carts need a payment plan
Pay-over-time options can lift checkout rates on big orders, but they carry fees that come out of margin.
Online-only brands and brands with showrooms
Online-only
- Free swatches and samples act as the first step
- The trial and returns policy carries most of the trust
- Ads are judged on online orders, after trial returns
- Delivery dates and setup options sell the order
With showrooms
- Ads drive store visits as well as online orders
- Google map and local ads reach shoppers near each store
- A booked appointment counts as a win
- Store sales get matched back to customer emails and phone numbers
How should a mattress brand count a sale during the trial?
As two numbers. The first is booked sales, which is every order the day it's placed. The second is kept sales, which is what's left after the trial ends and returns come back. Ad platforms only see the first number. Your budget should follow the second.
That shift can change which ads look best. A campaign that brings in bargain hunters may book plenty of orders and lose many of them to returns. Another may book fewer and keep almost all of them. We report both by channel, so you can see the difference.
Fewer returns help as much as better ads. Emails during the trial explain the break-in period, check in on comfort, and offer a topper or exchange before a full return. Each return reason gets logged. A pattern in those reasons often points to a product page or a size guide that needs fixing.
What we'd run for a furniture brand
Swatch and sample request flows
A swatch request is a strong signal. It gets follow-up like a lead, timed to when the swatches arrive.
Email marketingGoogle Shopping by fabric and finish
Every color and material listed with its own image, so shoppers find the exact version they want.
Paid adsShowroom sales matched to ads
Store orders matched back by email or phone, plus regional comparisons, so showrooms count.
Ad tracking and reportingLocal ads for each showroom
Google ads and map listings aimed at shoppers within driving distance, with booked appointments counted as wins.
Google Ads agencyPayment plans tested on profit
Pay-over-time offers tested on big carts, with the provider's fee counted, so you know each order still makes money.
Ad tracking and reportingLead-time messages that keep shoppers buying
- Show the delivery window on the product page and in the ad, so buyers know what to expect
- Offer a ready-to-ship collection for people who can't wait
- Send build updates while the piece is being made
- Text the delivery date as soon as it ships
- Ask for a review after setup, once it's in the room, rather than on delivery day

Furniture and mattresses questions
How do we market made-to-order furniture with long lead times?
Be upfront about the wait in ads and on the product page, and offer a ready-to-ship option for people who can't wait. Then keep buyers excited with build updates until delivery.
Can you tell which ads lead to showroom sales?
Partly. We match store orders back to customers by email or phone, and compare showroom sales in regions with more or less ad spend. It's never perfect, but it beats giving the ads no credit.
How do mattress trial returns affect our ad budget?
Every return during the trial takes a sale back off the books. We report booked and kept sales separately and set the budget from kept sales, so campaigns that bring heavy returns get less money.
How do we cut cancellations on made-to-order pieces?
Show the expected build time before checkout. Send an update at each stage of the build, and give a firm delivery window as soon as you have one. Long silences during the build give buyers time for second thoughts.
Do payment plans help sell furniture online?
They often help on big orders, because the monthly price feels easier. They also carry fees. We test them and check that orders still make money after the fee.
